Fremantle 29 Back In Service

Fremantle Municipal Tramways tram 29 returned to regular passenger during February, running on several days including the Labour Day long weekend of 28 February to 2 March. This followed some recent repairs and adjustments, subsequent to its major refurbishment that was carried out over several years by our volunteers.

After its original restoration by PETS members, FMT 29 first entered service in May 1992 in Whiteman Park. FMT 29 like Perth E 66, is equipped with 77E type trucks obtained from the City of Kagoshima, Japan.

If you are wanting to have a ride on FMT 29, the best time to come out is on public holidays. This is when will be running multiple trams if possible. You can also check our Facebook page, which is where we will share information if this tram is running on a regular weekend.
