Tramway Extension August Update
Since the closure of our tramway from the 22nd of July, progress has continued to be made on our tramway extension project.
Foundation works are nearing completion with tracklaying and overhead installation soon to commence. Work is also progressing well at the new Whiteman Park station with power recently being switched on for the first time at the new station.
METRONET currently estimates that by late September works on the extension, in particular the tramway triangle will have progressed to the point that our tramway will be able to reopen.
Here you can see the tracks for the old Lords Street Branch, which ran to the original entrance of Whiteman Park. Unfortunately these tracks aren't being used for our new Entrance Branch and the track continues to the right of the image to the railway station.
